HCC Rec Ride: Netti Challenge Series (Whittlesea)

The 110km and 68km courses include undulating terrain and breathtaking views across the Kinglake National Park. Also note that a free Austcycle course is also offered on the day. “Austcycle sessions are designed to promote cycling skills and confidence on the bike, and are designed for family members who aren't quite ready to tackle the short or long course options on offer. All licensed riders with some track racing experience are welcome. Note that Junior riders are welcome but they must be experienced and have permission from their club/coach to participate.
The Sunday Roast On Wheels is offered as endurance track training for experienced track riders to practice racing over Championship distances. Riders are split into two divisions and depending on numbers, up to three races are offered: scratch (30 to 40 laps), elimination and points (80 to 120 laps). Riders are permitted to be lapped and can remain in the race until the finish. The main objective is to provide an opportunity to test your abilities under race conditions. In order to minimize costs and given the maximum number of riders is 24 per race, the race fee ($10 for up to 3 races) is set to only cover the facility hire and hence no prize money will be offered.

58 and 109 km course options are available, both of which take in the challenging climb of Mount Macedon. Once you are through that you enjoy the Macedon region which is filled with beautiful lush tree lines, undulating terrain and also flat sections of road. You will take in some of Victoria’s most beautiful surroundings.
